Mine was good. And mine was bad. The Red Sox lost. But, I’m not super broken up about it. They played super hard. They didn’t quit. But, they just didn’t have it. Ortiz wasn’t batting. Tek looked like a pitcher taking swings. And Beckett was mortal. Ahh wells.

Music helps to cheer me up.

Late Of The Pier- Focker (Instrumental) (I love the sound these guys have… electronic rock stuff. I’ll be posting them again.)
Bill Withers- Harlem (Eamon Harkin Edit) (I love this guy’s re-edits. Keeps the same soul of the song, but just adds the right amount of flavor.)
Rodriguez- Jane S. Piddy (Add this to the ‘guys who sound like Donovan that I like’ category.)

I still don’t know what I should be for Halloween.

Maybe I should just be a cop from the 1970’s…

And what great solution did I come up with? More of the same. More of the same. But, I thought about it a bit longer. And decided I was never doing the same thing at the same time I did it before. I’m doing something similar in a different way. But, doing something completely different eventually becomes routine. Things I don’t get tired of… hmm…

1. Bacon

2. Reading

3. Music

Super Tennis- The Pacific Has No Memory
Studio- Origin (Shake You Down By The River)
Kara Keith- Kick This City
Atomic Hooligan- I Don’t Care (Tomcraft Remix)
Gilberto Gil- Sai Do Sereno
Memory Cassette- Sleep On The Roof

4. Movies

5. Comedy

6. Sex

I’d add a visual… but this is a family-oriented site. And I really don’t want any more pervs checking it out after the whole TWS incident.

Before Dean Spunt and Randy Randall were No Age, they were in a band called Wives. Apparently I saw them open for Dinosaur Jr. at Spaceland a couple of years back. I don’t remember hearing them, but I’m sure they were delightful.

No Age – Every Artist Needs A Tragedy

Wives – Big Ideas

Dinosaur Jr – Start Choppin
Dinosaur Jr – Just Like Heaven (Cure cover)

Is it bad that I don’t know what I am going to be for Halloween and that for the first year in a long time, I actually don’t care? I really want to just get really well made fangs and colored contacts. That’s it.

Sometimes there are songs that just hit the nail on the head with how you are feeling…

Eagle*Seagull- I’m Sorry, But I’m Beginning to Hate Your Face

Sometimes an old song can become new again…

Joy Division- Means To An End (Eamon Harkin Edit)

Sometimes your friends do great remixes…

Cassettes Won’t Listen- Freeze and Explode (J Vegus Remix)

Sometimes being silly is raunchy…

_for Obama, forever ago_

(oh like YOU wouldn’t use that blog title?!!!! whatever.)

I realize some of you have already seen these gems. But why not pass them on anyways, right?

To begin this week off, we should start where my last one ended. ms. mimi passed this on to me last Friday and I thought it was absolutely ridiculous. This girl and her voice make me shiver a little -in the good way that chains on tarmac always seems to make me shiver.

big 3,000 mile hive-five to mimi.

Sean Hayes played here in SLC the other night. We stood in line for an hour until we were rejected due to our plastic v. cash dilemna. (dumb, I know. don’t rub it in.) The remaining night was spent drinking Sessions and watching Palin v. Biden Smackdown, which turn out less of a smackdown and more of a rubdown. Either way, they both seem to play above the belt-lines.

So here’s some Sean Hayes (whom I adore).

this last one is just another wonderful moment in the lives of the folks over at Blogotheque. these kids have a dream-job that makes me want to up and toss myself out into the world doing something similar. (it will happen so, I’m positive.)

in the meantime, this is bon Iver doing “Emma, Forever Ago”….accapella. The best part is when the camera turns around and there is a huge crowd of bestilled Parisians. Then of course they follow with a rainy stroll…

I can’t tell if the guy at the beginning is French or Italian (“no posso sono”), but definitely suspicious…

finally, a shameless plug on voting. (less than a month left!)

god! I love it when celebrities tell me to be responsible! (cynicism aside, I love me some Silverman “like herpes -but for positive” and the “Kid From Superbad” as we will continue to refer to Jonah Hill until he makes a few more funducational picture-shows.)

I don’t care what anyone says….I love Phil Collins through and through.

Genesis – Follow You, Follow Me

Genesis – Carpet Crawlers (the Peter Gabriel years)

In The Air Tonight (love this Cadbury commercial’s use of the song):

Land of Confusion:

I Wish It Would Rain Down (epic video starring a young Jeffery Tambor):

Take Me Home:

Against All Odds (I’ve never seen this movie, but after watching this video, I’m putting it at the top of my Netflix queue):
