I get a kick out of checking what search terms people use to get to this website (hairy bearded men, chan marshall’s feet, antlers on a bear, future spacesuit…). For a while “tight white shorts” was in the lead, but “songs to propose to” is quickly catching up. I wonder how many people have actually taken my suggestion and used Smell Yo’ Dick to get down on one knee and do one of the most romantic things they’ve ever done. If anyone has been brave enough, please let me know. Since my romantic song suggestions are so popular, I’ll give you another one of my faves:
Hi friends. Welcome to the second installment of, Guilty Pleasures (aka Songs We Like By Bands We Don’t). It’s been a while since our last guilty post, but we think it’s well worth the wait. Or maybe not? Please don’t hate us. We still love you and we still love good music.
xo,

EVERYONE FOREVER NOW is an episodic motion-based media project by Will Hoffman & Daniel Mercadante. It is an examination of the collective wisdom and expression of human actions.
I went to sleep last night with this song stuck in my head. I woke up this morning with this song stuck in my head. It won’t go away. Please make it go away.
And then on the 18th, two of my favorite bands are playing together… Giant Drag and The Charlatans UK. An odd combo, but a helluva show. If anyone is thinking about getting me a birthday gift (my birthday is the next day), this would be a good choice.
An iconic director has passed away. He leaves behind a legacy of great movies. And he also had a lot to do with picking the soundtracks for these movies. Here are some songs that he used in such flicks as “The Breakfast Club”, “Uncle Buck”, “National Lampoon’s Vacation” series, “Weird Science”, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”, “The Great Outdoors”, “Sixteen Candles”, “Planes, Trains & Automobiles” and others.
I went to the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday night. It was Reggae Night. Gregory Isaacs was supposed to perform, but he was sick. So, it was an extended set from Mykal Rose… just sick thick ass dub. Toots and The Maytals also performed, but since most people know who they are, I’ll just post a couple of videos of Mykal Rose.
I totally forgot about these guys. Saw them open for Caribou a while back. They made my ears bleed (as all good music should). Glad this song popped up to remind me.
(two posts in one day. how you like that, friends and loved ones?! enerrggggyyy, motttiiivationn, a really strong cup of cofffeeeeeee. learn about it. )
I went to Cape Cod to hang with Megs and Kyle last weekend. I love those kids. It was the prefect combo of relaxing vacay and crazy fun. As I’ve been known to do, I made a soundtrack for the weekend. Something to carry us through the long rides from Providence to Brewster to P-Town to Nauset to Boston. Here’s a sampling of the hits:
